Our Story


"Glykaki - Traditional Flavors of Oxylithos", is a company that has been operating since May 2011 in Oxylithos Kymi of Evia utilizing the agricultural wealth of the area. Specifically, Glykaki produces traditional recipes, spoon sweets, jams and baking desserts, using locally sourced fruit and nuts exclusively.
Our vision is to highlight our blessed place and at the same time to live and evolve, we and our children, on the land of our ancestors, while offering decent living and work conditions to many of our fellow humans.
  1. Back to the village

    2011. - Decision on processing agricultural wealth (fruit - vegetable) products '' jar '', with a vision to expand overseas. Establishment of small pastry shop and workshop.

  2. Start working with local businesses

    2012 - Start of cooperation with Super Markets Evia (Galinos) and small distribution network in Evia in bakeries - pastry.

  3. CGIU Award

    2014 - Award from CGIU (Institute of Mrs. Angelopoulos) social extension of business: Labor supply in unemployed women and exploit agricultural production. Significant financial support and expansion of the retail store. George Tsakofitis moved to America for further education by studing at Arizona State University.

  4. ISO HACCP certification

    2015. - After proper staff training on how to properly organize and control production quality and service, we are now certified by ISO HACCP .

  5. Best Jam Award at the Great Taste of 2016

    2016. - World award at the Great Taste Awards (Golden Star) for our original '' Anise Asterisk Fig Jam ''

  6. Participation in large sector food exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

    2017. - Having participated in major food fairs (Expotrof, Foodexpo, Food n 'Life Munich), we have managed to establish a sales network, supplying stores throughout Greece and abroad.

  7. Establishing partnerships in Greece and abroad.

    2018. - With the good quality of our products and above all the excellent cooperation and trust we have built in our business relationships, we have managed to establish solid partnerships in five countries (The Netherlands, Germany, Norway, England, Cyprus) overseas and a network of 50 retail stores in Greece.

  8. Creating a new series of products and presenting them abroad.

    2019. - Participation in industry fairs (Israel, Germany) and significant product expansion (chutneys, chocolate bars etc.).

That's because our workshop offers the opportunity for unemployed housewives in the area to work in a friendly and an decent environment by imitiating our valuable knowledge and experiences.On the other hand, the fact that we only use as raw material fruits and nuts in our region constitutes a profitable use of the local agricultural society products
Η βοήθεια σε κοινωνικά αποκλεισμένες γυναίκες και η αξιοποίηση της πρωτογενούς αγροτικής παραγωγής ήταν ακριβώς οι λόγοι για τους οποίους το 2014 το πρότζεκτ ΓΛΥΚΑΚΙ βραβεύτηκε από το ίδρυμα Angelopoulos CGIU Felllowship, ενώ το ίδιο ίδρυμα πρόσφερε τη δυνατότητα στον εμπνευστή και ιδιοκτήτη της επιχείρησης Γιώργο Τσακοφίτη, να παρακολουθήσει στο Arizona State University στις ΗΠΑ μια σειρά σεμιναρίων και να γνωρίσει ανάλογα projects από όλο τον κόσμο.

Our Village


Oxylithos is the largest village in the Municipality of Kymi. It is just two hours from Athens, in central Evia, towards the Aegean Sea. It is built on a hill, on the slope of an extinct volcano. It has great views and very green. Oxylithus is known as the "Mystras" of Evia,thats because it has four Byzantine churches, important Christian ruin s and well-known customs, such as the Feast of the Virgin Mary on August 15th. Ends up at a beautiful beach called Stomio, a summer resort that is full of people on July and August.
